BOWDON | DANIL SUGAKOV
In this Keller kitchen in a barn conversion, we blended rustic charm with modern, industrial elegance. The earthy terracotta floor tiles add warmth, and above, the large skylight floods the kitchen with natural light, creating an airy, open atmosphere that makes the space feel connected to the outdoors. The addition of natural light highlights the textures and finishes used throughout the kitchen, creating a beautifully dynamic environment.
The kitchen features dark, matt cabinetry in a sleek, handleless design for a minimalist aesthetic. The cabinetry's deep tones provide a striking contrast to the natural light and flooring, making the room feel bold yet inviting. Open shelving with rustic wooden slabs supported by black metal brackets injects personality into the kitchen, perfect for our clients to display decorative items or essential kitchenware.
the design
The robust worktops are crafted from a stone-effect material, offering both durability and a textured, raw appeal that fits perfectly within the industrial-inspired style of the kitchen. The distressed, weathered look of the worktops adds character and depth, while the smooth finish ensures practicality.
"This dramatic kitchen design brings a modern twist to a traditional barn conversion, bringing attention to its heritage. Our contemporary design gives a nod to the building's character without going down a traditional kitchen route. Instead, we chose to highlight the old building's original features, such as the oak beams and flooring that runs throughout the property, but then design a modern and technology-packed room. The kitchen is the Keller range of furniture. It is dominated by striking tall units on the left wall. With no plinths or legs, the light flows underneath (and it also makes the floor easy to clean!). The units are topped with a high-performing Dekton worktop in Trillium.
All the appliances are designed to work hard. The BORA Pure hob provides responsive induction heat and extraction in one, whilst the Quooker tap offers a water mixer and instant boiling water. Sandwiched between the Neff oven and combi microwave is a Liebherr wine cooler – an efficient brand for keeping liquids cool! We love the 80mm thick oak table that we commissioned with a live edge to overlap the Dekton worktop, and we used the same piece of wood to create backlit shelving, bringing the room together cohesively without appearing too contrived. Ask us for Keller with appliances that pack a punch!”
